What is JEE Advanced Exam?

Joint Entrance Examination -Advanced (JEE Advanced ) formerly known as the IIT-JEE. JEE Advanced was started 60 years ago in the year 1961. The exam is conducted to offer admission into the various courses in the IITs like Engineering, Science and Architecture. The JEE Advanced exam in two shifts and each paper for 3 hours. So the total duration of the JEE Advanced exam is 6 hours a day. Its conducted once a year in English and Hindi language. JEE Advanced permits only maximum of 2 attempts in a consecutive year. The JEE Advanced examination is conducted by the IITs. This exam is for admission to the 23 IITs in India.

Securing a good All India Ranking in the JEE Main exam alone is sufficient to get admissions to several premier engineering institutions in India but, if getting admissions to the IITs is the ultimate goal then such students have to focus on the preparation for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams. Because, without doing well in both the exams, they will not get admission to the IITs. JEE Advanced 2024 : IIT Madras has released JEE Advanced eligibility criteria and exam centres online along with the information brochure. Candidates can check the JEE Advanced exam date 2024 on the official website. The JEE advanced exam will be held on May 26, 2024. IIT Madras has also announced the JEE Advanced 2024 registration dates on the official website. The JEE Advanced registration process is set to begin on April 21, 2024. The last date for JEE Advanced 2024 registration is April 30. JEE Advanced 2024 registration will be available in online mode only at jeeadv.ac.in. To register for the JEE Advanced exam, candidates must be among the top 2,50,000 JEE Main qualifiers. JEE Advanced 2024 exam will be held in two shifts in online mode. IIT JEE Advanced exam shift 1 timing is from 09 AM to 12 PM while shift 2 will be conducted from 02:30 to 05:30 PM. Moreover, last year the authorities re-introduced the 75% in 12th eligibility criteria. Thus IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs aspirants have to secure a minimum of 75% marks in class 12.
